A supercharged HEMI will be built by Late Model Engines and is slated to make 1,200 horsepower.

Temecula, CA EngineLabs, is excited to announce its 2023 Engine Build Giveaway, leading up to the PRI Show this December. 

The giveaway engine is a Whipple supercharged 426 cubic-inch Gen III HEMI, slated to make 1,200 horsepower. It will be built in real-time at the PRI Show by renowned engine builders, Late Model Engines, with support from presenting sponsor, Summit Racing Equipment.

“We are extremely excited to be working with Late Model Engines and Summit Racing once again, to build an engine on the PRI Show floor,” said Greg Acosta, Editor of EngineLabs. “While we’re sticking with our friends (LME) for the build, we’re shaking things up this year by building a Gen-III HEMI with a Whipple twin-screw supercharger. That’s three totally different engine combinations with three totally different power adders, in three years, for anyone keeping score.”

Once live, entries for the giveaway will be accepted online at enginelabsgiveaway.com, with special features at both the SEMA Show and PRI Show. Each initial entry received at the trade shows will earn participants $5 Summit Bucks for use online at SummitRacing.com.

“Project 899” will be built by Big 3 Racing and debut at this year’s LS Fest in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Temecula, CA Power Automedia, the leader in automotive digital media, is excited to announce a partnership with Summit Racing to build a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro to make 899-rear wheel horsepower and go 8.99 or quicker in its first trip to the track.

The car’s transformation will take place at Big 3 Racing in Hinkley, Ohio. The build will be led by the Big 3 Racing team, with input from Power Automedia’s automotive experts including Jeremy Nichols of LSX Magazine, Brian Wagner of Street Muscle Magazine, Chris Friend of Power + Performance YouTube channel, and Brian Havins, Power Automedia’s Director of Content.

We are ecstatic about ‘Project 899’ and the opportunity to work with the crew at Big 3 Racing and Summit Racing,” explained Brian Havins. “And while the idea behind this build is straightforward, assembling a car of this magnitude in only nine days is no easy feat. We will need to expect the unexpected to complete this ’69 Camaro in the given timeframe. With that said, I believe our team has the talent and experience to pull it off even with a few surprises along the way.”

The car will be built from the ground up using Summit Racing’s extensive catalog – exhaust, cooling, suspension, drivetrain – you name it. The team will even pay a visit or two to Summit’s nearby Tallmadge, Ohio retail location to pick up any missing parts.

The 9-day build process will be meticulously documented with 30 straight days of content. It will be showcased on Power Automedia’s Power + Performance YouTube channel, LSX Magazine, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. 

Upon completion, the Camaro will be dyno tested at Big 3 Racing and debut at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky, during LS Fest taking place September 8th-10th, 2023.

Temecula, CA — Mustang Week to announce a “FUN RUN” autocross event as a part of its week-long festivities honoring the ever-popular Pony car.

Mustang Week 2023 will take place September 4th to 9th in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The FUN RUN will be hosted at the legendary Darlington Dragway in Hartsville, South Carolina, on September 7th. 

“We’re very excited to be able to bring back autocross and drag racing in one location,” said Lloyd Hunt, Power Automedia’s Chief Revenue Officer. “We would not be able to do this if it wasn’t for the incredible partnership between BFG, Steeda, and the on-hand support from members of the SCCA. Since this is a FUN RUN, we want to make sure every participant has access to an instructor to help them navigate their first time on a track, and we look forward to seeing everyone slay the course.”

Mustang Week has collaborated with SCCA (the Sports Car Club of America) to design and help oversee the autocross event – including managing timing, tech inspection, the course layout, and more. South Carolina Region Members of SCCA will be on site to support the participants with access to instructors.

“Autocross is a grassroots motorsport that anyone can do,” explained Shellie McKee, SCR SCCA Regional Executive. “Mustang Week is a great way for the Sports Car Club of America to reach a new group of racers and, hopefully, increase participation at SCCA events. #funwithcars is the name of the game!”

Mustang Week is pleased to acknowledge the support of BFGoodrich and Steeda in ensuring the success of the FUN RUN. Steeda’s participation includes ride-alongs and product exhibitions, along with a $250 gift card prize that will be provided to the fastest woman driver. BFGoodrich is doubling down by also offering a 50% rebate on a set of four tires to the fastest female driver.

“Autocross is the gateway into competitive road racing. What better way to experience the limits of your Mustang than an autocross event at Mustang Week?” questioned Chris Cervenka, Steeda’s Director of Marketing. “And don’t worry! When you’re ready to take your Mustang to the next level, Steeda is here with all the performance parts you need to knock out the competition!”

Temecula, CA — Mustang Week is excited to be hosting the highly anticipated Cruise-N-Drag sponsored by Stifflers. The CND event will take place September 7th, 2023 during Mustang Week, which runs September 4th to 9th, 2023, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

All Ford-powered are welcome to join along on the Cruise-N-Drag sponsored by Stifflers, as it kicks off in Myrtle Beach and makes its way to the prestigious drag racing venue, Darlington Dragway in Hartsville, SC. 

“Stifflers is extremely excited to be sponsoring Mustang Week’s Cruise-N-Drag event,” explained Brian Figg of Stifflers. “Unlike a lot of other shows out there, it gives all participants the opportunity to get out there and have some fun driving their cars. To us, that’s what this hobby is all about. What’s more fun than surrounding yourself with other enthusiasts enjoying the same thing?!”

Participants will gather at Murrells Inlet Mall before departing for Darlington Dragway by 9am. Each vehicle will be allowed three back-to-back passes at Darlington. The average of the three will determine each vehicle’s overall time and will be used in the scoring process. Winners will be chosen for the following categories: Fastest Overall, 9.0 Average, 10.0 Average, 11.0 Average, 12.0 Average, and 13.0 Average. Following the event, participants are also welcome to enjoy Test-N-Tune, which will be going on all day for those not participating in the Cruise-N-Drag. 

“The Cruise-N-Drag is essentially the popular True Street class of drag racing on steroids,” stated Scott Parker of Power Automedia. “Instead of a 30-minute cruise, we have a 2-hour cruise. This event is for honest-to-goodness street cars looking to have some fun, as that’s what Mustang Week is all about. Reaction times don’t matter, it’s just you against the clock. Sean Lea has joined as a Business Development Associate. He brings extensive sales and speed shop/retail experience with a focus on the off-road and Overlanding scene. Sean has previously worked as a Store Manager (and former Sales Rep) at SoundsFast in Bend, OR, and as a Sales Rep at Dearborn Classics. Prior to that, he was the owner and operator of The FitGarage.

Jennifer Petraitis has also joined as Business Development Associate, bringing a focus on the drag racing and engine building market. Jennifer comes to Power Automedia from Driven Lighting Group and brings a wealth of sales and logistics experience. Mustang Week Launches New Site

Myrtle Beach, SC – Mustang Week is back for 2023 and bigger than ever, taking place from September 4th to 9th, 2023, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

For over 22 years, Mustang Week has been the premier event for Mustang owners, enthusiasts, and fans to gather and celebrate their love for the iconic muscle car. This year’s event, under new ownership, promises to be the most exciting yet, with a wide range of activities and events that are sure to thrill Mustang fans of all ages.

The event will kick off on September 4th with a Meet-n-Greet at Twin Peaks Restaurant, where Mustang owners and enthusiasts from around the country will gather to show off their cars, meet new people, buy Official Mustang Week apparel, and enjoy the excitement of the event.

Throughout the week, Mustang owners can participate in a variety of activities, including the a Mustang Cruise-In, Mustang Car Show, Autocross Challenge, Drag-n-Drive, and more. For those who prefer to watch, there will be plenty of opportunities to see these iconic cars in action.

In addition to the many events, Mustang Week 2023 will feature a variety of vendors offering everything from performance parts to apparel and accessories. Attendees can shop for the latest Mustang gear, talk with experts in the industry, and find the perfect upgrades for their cars.
